Ich habe momentan Windows XP mit 2 Festplattenpartitionen. Ich möchte nun Win7 aufspielen (also XP löschen und Win7 neu installieren).

Ich habe momentan Windows XP mit 2 Festplattenpartitionen. Ich möchte nun Win7 aufspielen (also XP löschen und Win7 neu installieren).
Partition C:= system
Partition D:= Datenbackup (keine Installationen)
Mein Ziel ist es, die C Partition zu löschen und da WIN 7 zu installieren. Die D Partition will ich unberührt als Bachup lassen und später unter Win7 wieder verwenden können.
Nun hat mir ein Kumpel gesagt, dass dies nicht geht, da man Win7 nicht installieren könne wenn 2 Partitionen von XP vorliegen. Man müsse beide Partitionen löschen, Win7 aufspielen, und dann die neue Partition neu erstellen.
Stimmt das? Möchte mir eigentlich nicht unbedingt eine neue externe Festplatte kaufen müssen und die Datenmenge auf D: ist zu gross für DVD Rolinge...
